Sailing in the Mediterranean
Do you enjoy your Bacardi Breezer under the warm rays of sunshine or ankle deep in slush? The annual sailing trip to the Mediterranean is an experience you will never forget. Sunshine, favorable winds, clear blue water and breathtaking views - what more could you ask for?
Each boat has a skipper and co-skipper from our skilled KY-Sail board and alumni, and we're up for teaching sailing to the willing every day. The trip has something for everyone, whether you're looking forward to mastering your turns or mixing your gin tonics.
Crayfish Party
Legendary is definitely the best word to describe this event, the speck of light among dark October nights. Each fall we organize Finland’s largest crayfish party, that’ll leave you speechless.
Plenty of crayfish, schnapps, an open bar, live music and an incredible atmosphere! You’re guaranteed to hear about this party both months before and after the event. Tickets are typically sold out incredibly fast, so be ready!
Summer Cruise
Picture yourself on a beautiful old sail boat with a topped up glass of punch in your hand, the sun setting in the horizon, the DJ playing deep house and all your friends dancing and laughing off the shore of Helsinki. Summer Cruise is all this, and much more, the ultimate summer kick off!
Each year Summer Cruise is organized with a different theme. The galeas sets sail from Halkolaituri, equipped with music and an open bar, and for one night only transitions into the hottest dance floor in town. The night certainly does not end when we return to shore, as the party moves to a Helsinki night club.
Sailing Days
This is the perfect event for anyone who is looking for an easy, fun way to try sailing. The day kicks off with a short theory lesson on the basics of sailing, after which everyone’s split into groups for the boats.
With the lead of skippers from KY-Sail we sail for a couple of hours so that everyone gets a chance to learn and try. Sailors with more experience are of course also very welcome!
The event is often organized at the end of the summer together with one of the sailing clubs in Helsinki. Many of our previous days have been held at the HSS Sailing Center in Kaivopuistonranta. After we’re done at sea there’s sauna, good food and great conversation.
